Mix the seeds with a little moist horticultural sand and place in loosely-tied plastic bags in the bottom of a fridge (not the freezer!). Four weeks at low temperatures for moist birch seed improves the speed and evenness of germination so this will really help the growth. Separate out and cover the seed with only a couple of mm coarse horticultural sand or grit . It is important that the seed is not covered too thickly as this could prevent germination. Firm the seeds gently. Keep well watered.

We aim to have most of our dispatched within 3-5 working days, but due to the nature of some of our products being made to order and also being hand made by craftspeople it can sometimes take a few days more on certain items. Please note on all pebbles and slate items the turn around time is 10-14 days.

Although hand making something may take that extra day or two longer than buying something imported and sitting in a warehouse we feel the quality and uniqueness of the product will far outweigh that extra couple of sleeps!
